Transitioning Your Skin From Winter to Spring

Transitioning Your Skin From Winter to Spring

What actually happens — and how to help your skin keep up

As winter finally loosens its grip and spring starts peeking through, our skin goes through its own little seasonal identity crisis. One minute it’s battling icy winds and central heating, the next it’s trying to figure out why the air suddenly feels… moist? Soft? Confusingly warm?

This transition period is completely normal — but it does come with a few noticeable shifts in how your skin behaves. Think of it as your skin recalibrating after months of cold, dry air.

What Changes When Winter Turns Into Spring

Your skin starts producing more oil

As temperatures rise and humidity increases, your skin naturally ramps up oil production. For some people, this means a healthy glow. For others, it’s more like: “Why is my forehead suddenly auditioning to be a mirror?”

More oil can also mean a higher chance of breakouts — especially if you’re still using your heavy winter moisturiser.
Let’s break down what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Dryness and flakiness can still linger

Even though the air is getting more humid, your skin doesn’t instantly bounce back. It’s been through months of cold, dry weather, and it may still feel:

  • tight
  • flaky
  • a bit dull

This is your skin slowly shedding its winter coat. We would recommend using Power Lift an ultra-rich moisturiser formulated with firming peptide complexes and hydrating pineapple ceramides to infuse the skin with long-lasting moisture and plump the skin.

Sun exposure quietly increases

More daylight + more time outside = more UV exposure. And after winter, your skin’s natural defences are a little out of practice.

This can lead to:

  • sunburn
  • dark spots
  • uneven tone
  • general “I forgot SPF existed” regrets

We would recommend using HydroPeptide Solar Defense SPF to protect against sun exposure (UVA and UVB).
